Girona, September 2025 – TEISA and Bia have been working together since early 2025 on a pioneering smart charging project for TEISA’s electric bus fleet at the Montfullà depot.
This initiative marks a major step forward in bus depot management systems, helping TEISA reduce operational costs, improve reliability, and fully optimize charging schedules for their electric fleet.

Thanks to this intelligent charging system, TEISA has already achieved a 35% reduction in variable charging costs, without exceeding contracted power limits.
Figure 1 shows an example of an optimized individual charging session, while Figure 2 illustrates the overall charging curve of the depot. In the latter, it is clear how the vehicles automatically charge during the hours when the energy price (yellow curve) is lowest.
Another key benefit of Bia’s solution has been improved charger–vehicle compatibility, which significantly reduces interruptions before batteries reach 100% state of charge.
“We had recurring issues with vehicle charging schedules. Since we’re also enabling four new public charging points soon, we decided to partner with Bia so we wouldn’t need to worry about power limitations or exceeding contracted demand. Bia’s system manages everything automatically and reduces costs by charging at the most economical times available,”says Marc Berenguer, Operations & Certification Engineer at TEISA.
